Google offers us a glimpse a hundred and fifty years into the prior with a brand new exhibit celebrating the anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg address.On November 19, 1863, President Lincoln delivered the brief but famous speech that began with the words “four ranking and seven years in the past…” after which went on to commemorate the infantrymen who lost their lives on the battle of Gettysburg and the foundations upon which the United States was shaped.
Five known copies of the speech in Lincoln’s handwriting exist, consistent with a website dedicated to the sixteenth president. Google’s new show-off offers a look at a kind of speech, referred to as the Bancroft reproduction.

Via Google’s online exhibit, you could zoom in on every phrase of Lincoln’s speech. The exhibit also displays the letter that the President wrote to George Bancroft, an American historian, and diplomat, who requested a copy of the speech. Paperwork and images concerning the Gettysburg tackle full the exhibit and strive to offer perception into one of the most celebrated speeches in the American historical past.
