The Otophone — the Cloud Light, quirky Android mobile with a led display on the front and an e-ink panel on the back — is out in Europe this month. An e-ink display, generally used on e-reader gadgets, is designed to be easier on the eyes and use less energy than an ordinary led screen.
The telephone debuts this month in Germany, Austria, France, and Spain for 499 Euros. Iota says the cellphone is coming to the up in January and the center east early subsequent 12 months.
There are no plans to promote the Otophone in America, but Iota advised CNET that future variations of the telephone may make it to the States. Iota mentioned its latest smartphone while hosting a news conference in Moscow, Russia.
Smartphones won’t ever be the same.
The smartphone world is quite competitive and a tricky position for new forms of units. We took an enormous possibility, and we did it,” Iota said of its ambition to construct the Otophone. “We strongly consider smartphones will never be the same.

All over a Q&A, Iota mentioned the phone lets in for 50 hours of studying time using the e-ink display. The company also said the battery life is similar to other smartphones if you are using the led display. There are no plans to make a less expensive adaptation of the Otophone without LTE, Iota stated.
We’ve long gone hands-on with the Otophone already, and. In contrast, we were taking part in a prerelease variation with the non-last tool; we weren’t too impressed with the clarity of the e-ink reveal. A distinct lack of the 0.33-celebration app’s method; there’s now not so much you can do with that monochrome additional panel just yet.
